Composition:

Each 1 ml contains:

Active ingredients:

Hydroxocobalamin acetate ………………………………… 500 μg

Inactive ingredients:

Sodium phosphate dibasic, benzyl alcohol, and water for Injection.

Indications:

(1) Neuropathic pain(especially Diabetic).
(2) Elderly people, Anemic Patients.

(3)Persons on diet & Vegetarians. B12 deficiency.
(4) People who use (PPI, metformin & colchicine).

Addisonian pernicious anaemia.
Prophylaxis and treatment of other macrocytic anaemias associated with Vitamin B12 deficiency.
Tobacco amblyopia and Leber’s optic atropy.

Contra-indications:

Hypersensitivity to any ingredient in the preparation.

Pregnancy, Nursing mothers & pediatric use:

Do not administer Injections preserved with benzyl alcohol to neonates, infants below 13 years, pregnant women or nursing
mothers. Benzyl alcohol has been associated with serious adverse events and death, particularly in pediatric patients (it may cause
Gasping Syndrome). Injections preservative free should be used in these populations.

Dosage and administration:

The following instructions are to be followed as long as the physician didn’t recommend anything else other than Hydrovit 500 μg
injection.

♦ Administration:

As usual Hydrovit 500 μg injection is to be given intramuscularly (injected into a muscle).

♦ Dose:

Initially: 1 ampoule twice /week or as required.

Maintenance:1 ampoule twice /month or as required.

Pregnancy and Lactation:

Hydroxocobalamin injection should not be used for the treatment of megaloblasticanaemia of pregnancy.

Package and storage:

– Carton box containing 3 ampoules, each of 1 ml injection and insert leaflet.
– Store in cool & dry place at a temperature not exceeding 30 °C.
– Do not use unless under physician supervision.
