Pharmacological action:

Ofloxacin is a Quinolone antimicrobial agent. Its mechanism of action
involves the inhibition of microbial topoisomerase IV and DNA
gyrase, enzymes required for DNA replication, transcription, repair, &
recombination.

Indications:

1- Acute bacterial exacerbations of chronic bronchitis.
2- Community –acquired pneumonia.
3- Uncomplicated skin & skin structure infections.
4- Acute, uncomplicated urethral & cervical gonorrhea.
5- Nongonococcal urethritis & cervicitis.
6- Mixed infections of the urethra & cervix.
7- Acute pelvic inflammatory diseases.
8- Uncomplicated cystitis.
9- Complicated urinary tract infections.
10- Prostatitis

Dosage & administration:

1- The usual dose of Ofloxacin tablets is 200 – 400 mg orally every 12
hours.
2- In case of patients with impaired renal function, after a normal initial
dose, dose should be adjusted as the following:
– For creatinine clearance 20 – 50 ml /min: is the normal dose once daily.
– For creatinine clearance < 20 ml / min: is 1/2 the normal dose once daily.

Package & Storage:
– For Tariflox 200 mg Tablets:

Carton box containing one blister (PVC/Alu) of 10 tablets and insert
leaflet.

– For Tariflox 400 mg Tablets:

Carton box containing 2 blisters (PVC/Alu), each of 5 tablets and insert
leaflet.
– Store at a temperature not exceeding 30 °C in a dry place.
– Do not use unless under physician’s supervision.
